About

My Town Vibe is a local awards program that runs one county at a time. The idea is small and old: the people who live somewhere know it better than a ranking algorithm does, and the places worth knowing about are usually the ones a neighbor would point you to.

So there is no editorial panel and no paid placement. Residents name the places, residents vote, and the count is the result.

How this is paid for

Businesses that are named can buy printed awards and merchandise if they want something to hang on the wall. That is the entire business model. Nothing on the ballot, in the voting, or in the results is for sale, and nobody is charged to take part or to win.
